The Burke Fund
Helping students pay for college since 1946.
Established in 1946 to honor Rhode Islanders who served in WW II, the John P. Burke Memorial Fund provides financial aid to qualified students, who have worked in golf, to assist them in obtaining a college education. More familiar to golfers as the "Burke Fund", it is one of the oldest golf scholarship programs in the country. Unlike many scholarship programs, past scholars are actively involved in the operation and direction of the Burke Fund. The Internal Revenue Service has recognized the Fund as a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit charity.
